New Hope Church Seeks Pastor

New Hope Church (Lansing, IL) has begun its search for a new pastor to follow the Rev. Ildefonso Torres who retires this summer. New Hope Church is a dynamic, missional, multi-ethnic congregation in the Reformed tradition. It is known throughout its area as a caring congregation that desires to impact the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The congregation is praying that the Lord will provide a pastor who not only loves to preach, but desires to lead the congregation, by word and example, into effective engagement with the community. Opportunities abound for a pastor who loves planning and leading the worship services of the congregation, providing pastoral care for the congregation, and following the prompting of the Spirit as a faithful and diligent servant of the Lord.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a highly relational and culturally diverse environment, and be adept at developing and communicating an inspiring vision for ministry. It would be a bonus if such communication could be shared in both Spanish and English. Finally, the ideal candidate will have earned a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary and will be ordained or prepared for ordination within the Christian Reformed Church in North America.

New Hope Church has been blessed with a core group of dedicated Christ-followers who long to reach the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This group gathers each week in Lansing, a short distance from Chicago (pictured to the right). Lansing was established in 1843. Since then the population has grown to nearly 30,000 residents, and the original rural setting has given way to a suburban one. In addition, the mono-ethnicity of the original Dutch settlers has given way to a vibrant multi-ethnicity. Finally, Lansing is home of Lansing Christian School and Illiana Christian High School.
